I have this usb hub that runs off miniusb. I plugged in a device that uses a type b usb; it does not work.?
I have a Targus Ultra Mini 4-Port USB Hub.
The model number is PA055U.
If it matters, the device it was trying to plug in is that new LaCie XL Rugged 1TB.
It seems that the hub would need external power because there is a DC 5V socket for it on the hub, but i don’t have that adapter.
It is the fact your device needs a lot of power, that an unpowered hub cannot power it. You need to power the drive with its power supply.
Otherwise, perhaps there is a mode switch on the drive, or it is not yet formatted.
